Nash Film Club

Nash Film Club brings together Nashville’s film community to showcase new work, inspire collaboration and celebrate the art of filmmaking. Film Club started in March of 2023 as an idea between two friends : What if we got a group of our film peeps together and all watched each others films on the big screen. Do you think people would show up?

Our first night we asked one of our friends to show three short films they had just finished and I would moderate a Q&A after. By word of mouth we invited our friends, and to my surprise, we packed out the theater.

I quickly realized the massive need in the rapidly growing film/tv industry in nashville for an aggregator that brought creatives working in the industry, together. Traditionally Nashville is a freelance town, with lots of people working independently. By nature, that creates silos and the void of camaraderie and collaboration can be felt quickly.

Nash Film Club meets once a month at SOHO House Nashville for a happy hour and film screening with Q&A. But it’s so much more than just a monthly hang. It’s a community of like-minded creatives who can work together, create together, and grow together. There is no shortage of talent in this town, and its such an honor to create a space for that talent to be seen.

Film Club is open to the public with an RSVP and is an official SOHO event open for all members. Every month is different and you never know what your gunna get until you show up. The rule of thumb is arrive early, grab a popcorn, make a new friend and snag a seat. It’s pretty often we have to drag the ottomans out to the edges because we’re past capacity. I say this every month, but all I do is curate the films and make sure the popcorn’s hot. It’s the people who show up that truly make the community and I am so grateful to be trusted with fostering that. I love when I get a call or text from someone telling me they got hired for a job by someone they met at Film Club!
